Vacation 2008

By wes - Posted on 04 July 2008

Mandy and I decided to take the week of June 30th for our vacation. During that week we were going to go to St. George Island for the day (maybe do this twice) and go to Wild Adventures a few times (we bought season passes). So on the 29th we took the boys and had a good time. We rode a few rides even Drew got in on a few of them but the highlight was the water park.

Drew apparently has not learned that a boy of his age and size is not capable of leaping buildings in a single bound despite his determination to do so. Our trip to the water park consisted primarily in chasing him from one location to the other. Only was he still when we stopped to get a basket of fries which he happily inhaled. Now only fueled by starches and sugar in the ketchup he has a new mission. Long story short he wore us out.

Dillon also on a mission to ride EVERYTHING was likewise on a mission. He had prepared to defeat anyone who stood in his way. He danced throughout the park and had on lookers who commented on his dancing. (understand reader that dancing as defined by the dictionary will not describe the moves, gyrations or wiggling that Dillon was displaying, it mostly looked as though he had ants in his pants) I'm sad to say that the highlight or what would have been the highlight, the go carts, was closed and Dillon was severely disappointed and nothing could console him but momma and daddy's hugs. I even carried him to the next ride.

We left Wild Adventures with weary bodies and weak smiles having checked that item off of our to do list. We ate our sandwiches and drank our beverages on the trip home.

NEXT!!!!

6/30/2008 8:00 AM St. George Island here we come...scratch that, Panama City Beach here we come first stop Wal-Mart. As I mentioned we planned on going to St. George Island during our week off. Well we got to see St. George Island...as we passed by the turn on our way to PANAMA CITY BEACH WOOO HOOO! Well, we all decided that we really didnt want to go to the beach for a day, we wanted our fill. So, we made the call to the Flamingo Motel and booked two nights.

Of course we had to stop at Wal-Mart to get a few necessities, toothpaste, toothbrush that type of thing and not to mention sandwich stuff. In all we got out pretty cheap on this trip.

Anyway, I'll spare you the details but we have a photo album for you to enjoy here
