Lyrics
Heard a lyric today from a song that struck me.
"Tired of masking what is dead and pretending it's alive."
Do I need to say this is a allegorical statement about the church or the Christian walk so many people find themselves in? Now that I've said that and you've apparently read it go measure your walk and compare what you find to the life and sweetness you originally found when Christ breathed the breath of life into your spirit.
Dillon's Soccer Schedule
The saga continues...
Dillon went to his first practice yesterday and after wandering the filed for 30 minutes we caught up with his coach.
Dillon is VERY excited about playing and we are excited along with him too.
His schedule is here and his first game is on Saturady, Feb 7th at 10:00 AM in the E section of Remington park. Go all the way to the back of the park and it's below the parking lot.
See you there.
Thomas County citizens meeting
Tonight I attended a meeting of what I'll deem the Thomas County Concerned Citizens Group, I'm not sure what the official name is. Tonights meeting made the 2nd official meeting; as I'm sure there have been side bars throughout the county since the meeting in November, this was made evident by the varying commentaries and suggestions from the attendees.
Mr. Young and Mr. Lastinger seem to be the authors of this grass roots movement that has now affected not only Thomas, but Grady, Colquitt and if I'm not mistaken Brooks county as well.
The morning after...
Wow, what can I say? We had a great Christmas. We first went to my parents house on Christmas eve and had a great time. Ate well, got good gifts enjoyed the fellowship and enjoyed being together. We had a traditional Christmas meal and it was SO good!
Christmas morning we had our Christmas, Mandy, myself, Dillon and Drew. They boys once again made a haul from Santa. He, Santa, even ate some of the cookies Dillon left out and drank the milk!
Musings...
I'm sitting here on a Friday night at the kitchen table, one laptop on the table, another in, well, my lap and another beast of a Desktop on the corner just itching to have it's OS reinstalled. Ahh, the magic of Friday nights.
Mandy and I elected to stay home tonight rather than go out and pay for a meal and wrestle with the gruesome twosome. We had fajitas, and they were good if I do say so myself. Nothing fancy, just some chicken, onions and bell peppers. But what I like most is having my family close.
Who says Thomasville doesnt have entertainment?
I've lived in Thomasville all my life and all my life I've gone else where for entertainment. Wild Adventures is east of us, all the best restaurants, traditionally have been south us and there isn't much in the way of live entertainment outside of a bar, which I won't visit. However I've begun to see a trend developing with upstarts and the "revival" I'll call it of the downtown area.
Waste not want not? Apparently not!
I had to return some thins to Lowes that I did not need and while at the service counter I noticed a buggy full of hardware items. A paslode nail gun caught my attention and I picked it up. It was brandy new, not even a scratch. The lady behind the counter said "Yeah, I know.". I asked what she meant and she explained that the items in the buggy were going to be thrown away. I gawked at her, literally. She went on to explain that if I bought flowers in the nursery and exited the building got to my car and came back because I changed my mind they had to throw them away.
Great song about my wife
I make no bones about it, I love my wife. She's wonderful and thoughtful. She loves me past my faults and knows how to soothe my rough edges when I get mad about something. Back when time ticked it's first "tick tock" on the clock God assigned my heart to her and her heart to me. From the foundation of the world our hearts were destined to be intertwined and I'm so glad.
Political Incorrectness
I'm not a fan of politics but I do enjoy a jab to either side of the isle when necessary and this is one of my favorites. I'd like to give credit to the sender but can recall who sent it to me. Anyway, it's worth a good chuckle.
